Remember that scene at the end of Shawshank Redemption? I won’t spoil it for you, but it involves a lot of rain.
This has to be a quick post because we haven’t had access to reliable wifi in a few days and I’m punching this in with my thumbs. There’s another blog post that I’ve written out, but I’m just waiting for the photos that I’ve uploaded to be formatted properly into the blog. It’ll have to wait until we have reliable computer access.
We are currently outside a city called Suwa on our way south to meet with a Warmshowers host in Hokuto. It is been the rainiest day of riding we’ve had yet in the month we’ve been on this trip. We are currently having a quick dry out in a convenience store with a hot cup of coffee as Bronwyn negotiate the purchase of an egg salad sandwich and some chocolate covered almonds for us.
Stay tuned for an extended post about our first WWOOFing experience and the second half of the previous post that details our ride from Murakami to Azumino City. Teaser: we get stranded on a mountaintop. Sort of.
As always, follow Christian on Strava for the routes and paths we’re taking and to see our daily mileage (kilometreage?)
